This Ramadan…… This RamadanTake your pick Choose carefully Whatever you choose is red indeed Scarlet Syrian fields are sizzling embers Each sparkle sending the Ummah party sour Would thou say cheers to Tayyip? Or join the Sickulars for an iftar? All this while, amid the groans of the drones The poor Afghans mumble little prayers The one who said Anaa Ibn e Firoun Came back riding within a year Mursi or Mubarak, the choice is bloodied. Whatever you choose is red indeed. The Iraqi cheeks have tears as thick as their oil We hear an eternal moaning saga on Palestinian soil The Bay of Guantanamo has special Tube iftars 55 plus days of fasting, unbroken remains their fast The Rohingyas spark but a little anger Compare it only to the sitting Somalian hunger In Pak you have Shia dates and Sunni dates Your pick will decide your fate Indies are unique, no ear to their commotion In a demo- crazy way they make the forty percent of Prison Population We kill and they kill The blood remains red still This Ramadan, Spare a thought For all the red Pause, think and reflect Whatever you choose should NOT be red indeed May Allah accept all our prayers and supplications, this Ramadan and make us cleaner by washing away all the dirt, all the stains, from our souls! Aameen. Eid Mubarak ...! Ms. Asma Anjum KhanEditor-in-chief |
