IITs or ITIs

Over the past few years, I have been closely associated with Academics. I often feel, that if a student is guided properly, then nothing is impossible for him/her to achieve. Many of us cite lack of finance as the sole reason for the educational backwardness of the community, rather than lack of awareness and will-power, which, to my mind are the vital reasons. Isn’t it time, to take some rational view to upgrade our own understanding of things?
In recent times, much has been discussed about setting up of a coaching institute in line with Super-30 for Muslim students to compete for the IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology). I wish a 100% success for this project, but I am afraid, it will not help us save many talents within the community who generally quit their studies during the schooling itself. Those of them who do continue with their studies fail to steer their careers to the dream-land of prosperity because of poor availability of career guidance.
I believe by setting up, Coaching and Guidance Cells, half of our mission will be accomplished. Alhamdulillah, now we have elite and erudite members from all parts of Bihar and Jharkhand. With the support of these members, we can establish a Coaching and Guidance Cell in each Muslim dominated locality.
Such Coaching and Guidance cells will help students, who are not aware of the avenues of higher education or specialized skills, to decide upon which line they should choose for their careers, depending upon their individual abilities, and thus inspire and motivate them to transform their dreams into reality. We cannot simply leave those students in the lurch who do not have the ability to grab a seat in the IITs. We can guide them for Degree or Diploma programs in Engineering of other Institutes. Even ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes) may be good enough.

At this stage we can only pray, ‘May Allah make this experiment a great success and turn it into a source of inspiration for all of us to replicate the experiment in all the madarsas of Bihar and Jharkhand and in all schools as well!’
