Bihar Anjuman's Schemes for Empowerment of Rural Areas
Projects Lend a hand to Bihar Anjuman
Phase-1: Clean Drinking Water to All
A companion by the name of Sa'ad asked the Prophet of Allah, "What form of sadaqah jariyah (continuous charity) is best?" He the Prophet (pbuh) replied "Provision of water is the best" and Sa'ad built a well.

Phase-1 of BASERA - the drinking water project - provides you with an excellent opportunity to earn the best form of sawab-e-jaariya (to maximize your return on investment - ROI).
For Bihar Anjuman, it provides an opportunity to reach the poor directly. And considering that we will need to cater to many aspects of development in the rural areas, with support from government and other agencies, we need to make a comprehensive program in this direction. Therefore, we named this project as Bihar Anjuman's Schemes for Empowerment of Rural Areas (BASERA).
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "The one who looks after a widow or a poor person is like a Mujahid (warrior) who fights for Allah's Cause, or like him who performs prayers all the night and fasts all the day." (Sahih Bukhari, Book #64, Hadith #265)
To start with this empowerment project, the drinking water project - aiming at providing pure drinking water at walkable distance to areas dominated by muslims - is being launched. Your support will make this project successful, insha-Allah.
Those who (in charity) spend of their goods by night and by day, in secret and in public, have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. [Surah: Al-Baqara, Ayah: 274]
Khan Pervez Ahmad Sb. (Jubail, Saudi Arabia) has already big plans for his village and the surrounding areas (Sasaram district), where we are going to have our first rural chapter,
insha-Allah. ....... Read about Pervez

To coordinate this project, brother Saad Farukh of Karnataka has shown keen interest, and he
has launched a fund-raising campaign, in Dubai/ Sharjah, to make the project
successful and provide an opportunity to earn the best form of sawab-e-jaariya
to maximum number of people.
Brother Saad Farukh may be contacted on Saad.F@itep.ae and sfarukh@gmail.com.
Please come forward with
your suggestions, good wishes and physical/ financial support to earn the sadaqa jaariya that is confirmed by this hadees
quoted by brother Saad Farukh:
A companion by the name of Sa'ad asked the Prophet of Allah, "What form of sadaqah jariyah (continuous charity) is best?" He the Prophet (pbuh) replied "Provision of water is the best" and Sa'ad built a well.

Sister Atia (moderator of BAJEE) has already initiated
survey for a hand pump in a slum area of Gaya, in coordination with her
mother and the people of the locality. This project is likely to cost Rs. 40,000
because of the rocky terrain and the need for rig-boring and contamination of
ground water by Arsenic (poisonous). May Allah reward sister Atia suitably!
Concrete (Plastered brick) Platform for hand-pumps: It's important to have a circular platform around the hand-pumps so that the water drains away from the pump and does not enter the same area where it's coming from (along the pipe of the hand-pump). Water filtering through the earth is ok, it must no travel downward along the outer surface of the pipes laid for hand-pump. Hence, providing clean drinking water also means that we must take into consideration this platform. Pls let's know the cost of this part as well.
Motor pump: I don't know what use will be made of the motor pump - I believe that they are mostly used for irrigation purposes, not for drinking water. Let's focus on drinking water facilities first, we will take up other projects under BASERA later, insha-ALlah. So, I hope that we can install the 6 hand-pumps planned by you, insha-Allah, as of now.
Knowledge sharing: In order that others may plan similar hand-pumps in their respective areas, please do share all the info that you come across with respect to this project.
