Empowering
our needy brothers
[why?
and how?]
Dear Members at BA,
Assalamoalaikum!
Hope you all to be in the best of health and eimaan.
BA has been doing a great job in empowering our needy brothers back at home and most of us have been contributing our bit through this platform. Indeed, we have a lot of dedicated people among us and it is because of them that things are relatively easy. At least, we have a right platform now to do the things.
Even today, if we compare the ground situation back at home, we feel that a lot of things need to be done simultaneously. There is no doubt that we lack resources and man power. However, paucity of resources doesn't mean we stop doing things; instead, we must keep trying our best.
On the line of recent proposal of empowering people by Shakeel bhai, I have been thinking of the best way to reach our brothers at ground where the need is most and providing them with the most effective means to support themselves. Mostly if you consider present situation, there are three generations living side by side; 1. People in the age group of 35yrs and more, 2. between 18 & 35yrs and, 3. below 18yrs. Considering the demographic situation, Literacy and family conditions back at home, we need to work simultaneously for all those coming under second and third categories as there is little we can do for our brothers in the first category and also that is not our focus.
Indeed, our scholarship program and adoption of schools are meant for our brothers coming under 2 nd and 3rd categories, however, I believe that a large chunk of our brothers belonging to poor families will not get proper benefit of our efforts and so we need to focus on them as well.
My concentration for now is solely on poor families which in no way can support any of
their wards for studies. Mostly, there is only one person earning for the whole family and future of all belonging to that family depends on him. Suppose a person who is of 20/25yrs old and have never gone to school. Now we can't send him to school but if we help him become financially strong with some conditions including future studies of their wards, I am sure he'll himself be taking care of his next generation. This way we can reduce our burden and help the whole family in need indirectly, insha-Allah.
Considering this situation, I thought of two ways [only for people having extremely poor economic
situation]

PROPOSALS
1. Providing Economic assistance [refundable] for business,
2. Helping our brothers to get a job outside India and bear the cost of his travel [Refundable] and visa processing. The job can be of technicians or general laborers and I am sure our vast network at BA can be effectively utilized for this.

I believe there are a lot of things that can be incorporated through BA member's ideas & inputs in this program but first and foremost is the resource – all of us can become a part of it either by contributing financially or by helping others get a job. We can maintain a proper data base and proper utilization of funds requires a great degree of transparency which I am sure people at BA can maintain very easily.
Well, brothers for now we need only your commitment either for providing financial support or help in terms of providing placements. I must clarify here that we need your financial contribution only for once. This will help us formulate a proper strategy and your support will morally boost us to work aggressively towards this program.
Alhhamdolillah, we have been successful in getting commitment for Rs. 2 Lacs and Shakeel bhai himself has committed for
Rs. 1 lac. I am sure most of all of us will come forward with our ideas and commitments and make us realise our dreams of empowering the poor.
May Allah reward you for your good deeds!

"O you who believe! Spend of the good things which you have (legally)
earned, and of that which We have produced from the earth for you, and do not
aim at that which is bad to spend from it, (though) you would not accept it
save if you close your eyes and tolerate therein. And know that Allah is Rich,
and worthy of all praise." (Quran: Surah # 2,
Verse # 267).
"It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces
Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last
Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance,
out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer,
for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer,
and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made;
and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout
all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the Allah-fearing."
(Quran: Surah # 2, Verse # 177)
