Life for Janab Manzurul Haque Sb, thus, was plunged into a fast track, which saw him serving in a series of hotspots all across this vast sub-continent. Despite the tearing commitments of an Armed Force career, his unsparing love for academics however, continued pushing him, into earning an LL.B degree, then a diploma in Management and later a further diploma in International Trade Law.

Between various command jobs, he had the opportunity of doing all kinds of staff-job, which is akin to doing a secretarial job.

His legal acumen found recognition in that he was assigned to hold the post of Law Officer of CRPF at Calcutta for five years at a stretch. Then, came a spell of command job in the hottest possible spots of Kashmir valley, before reverting back, after going through due selection process, to assume the charge of the Chief Law Officer (Judge Attorney General) of the National Security Guard (An elite Force of India). It was then that he was awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Service in recognition of his past services. On return from NSG, he commanded with some distinction, the regimental centre of CRPF called a Group Centre, at Durgapur (West Bengal, India), for nearly two years and then opted for a premature retirement from the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) to pursue his secret desires, some of which are: writing creatively, and doing some legal and some social work.

As a poet: He has published two small books of English poems, entitled “Simurg" and “Not the same as you”. Simurg was published, when he was in service and was translated by him in Hindi as an original work. The numerous jawans and officers of the CRPF purchased its copies. Simurg was also translated in Bangla by someone, when he was in Durgapur and the book was quite a sell out in the civil society. “Not the same as you” is his latest work which he has not been able to circulate due to paucity of time. Only three / four copies were sent to some VIPs who have appreciated the work. A copy of Mr. M.J.Akbar’s letter of appreciation is produced.
