He is consultant in Emirates Telecommunication corporations (Etisalat) in Dubai and founder of Bihar Anjuman which is working for upliftment of Muslims in Bihar & Jharkhand. Hashmi said that it is due to Er Shakeel Ahmad’s ceaseless efforts that thousands of needy poor students are being educated throughout Bihar and Jharkhand. His management skills have brought hundreds and thousands of likeminded people together who are connected with each other through internet since 2004 under the umbrella of Bihar Anjuman. Dr Manoj Kumar lauded different roles played by Bihar Anjuman. He announced the names of the students for their prizes based on their performance in previous fortnightly tests. The prizes of different categories were given by the guests while the prizes for the best class performance were given by the Chief Guest.
Er Shakeel Ahmad Saheb was invited to deliver his speech. A loud applause greeted him, and in his usual humble approach, he waved to express his appreciation towards the children and guardians. He recited a suurah of the Qur’an and briefly explained the importance of education and self-service. A nation or a community, that doesn’t serve itself, that doesn’t ponder upon its own well-being, that doesn’t pay heed to the demands of the age, is bound to lag behind in the race of survival, he said. He expressed his dissatisfaction on the plight of the Muslim community in India. He said that we have become mere ‘beggars’, because instead of paving a way for the upliftment of the community, we are asking the government to provide us bread and shelter. Even if one talks about his rights and demands it from the government, he is a believer in no-action. He said that Muslims are the Khalifa for the whole society. They are supposed to guide and nourish but the reality is otherwise. He wondered why we must look towards the governments to ‘help’ us In this regard. Referring to the Qur’an, he opined that we are born to ‘give’; give whatever one can, to his kith and kens, to his neighbours, to his society, to his land, to his country without asking for anything in return, without expecting anything in return except the betterment of society. Education is the only means that will make one achieve this position.
Janab Shakeel Ahmad said that RAHBAR believes in the Holy Teaching of being a giver, a donor. He explained the motif of Biahr Anjuman and its NGO, RAHBAR which has a significant online presence. He said that we have to make the best use of available technology for our community development. The Muslim world is far behind the "others" in technology (and of course, education, as a whole). Unless we made the best use of all available technology, we would go further down. He said that he is striving to bring Muslims from all walks of life to interact and act jointly with an objective to educate, motivate, inspire and instil confidence in young generation. We join hands to eradicate miseries and evil practices from our society. Our objective is to see that the community puts its unspent energy to constructive use, he said. Elaborating the module of RAHBAR Coaching Centres, Janab Shakeel Ahmad said that RAHBAR’s goal is to produce thousands of skilled persons every year through providing quality basic education at its Centres. As the students of these centres come from educationally backward and financially weak families, RAHBAR helps them get technical education soon after the completion of Matriculation so that the gap in education, employment and economic prosperity with respect to the majority community is reduced.
Janab Shakeel Ahmad expressed his gratitude towards Br Tarique Anwar, Principal, Iqra Public School, who provided his campus and classrooms for running RCC. He blessed Dr Manoj Kumar and Dr Sarfaraz Ahmad for their support to the cause. 7th Awards Ceremony on 9th November 2011

RAHBAR Coaching Centre, Gopalganj2 @ Hathwa conducted its 7th Awards Ceremony on 9th Nov 2011, in the premises of Iqra Public High School, Khas Tola, Hathwa.

The chief guest on the occasion was Janab Athar Shaheen Hashmi (Sponsor of this RCC). It was a memorable occasion as the students and the guardians of this centre got an opportunity to meet Jb Athar Shaheen Hashmi, the sponsor of this Centre. He is on leave for ten days. He discussed the progress of this centre with members of the Management Committee, then he held a session with the students, in which he tried to understand the problems being faced by them. Later, he asked the Management Committee to be more attentive with respect to subjects like Mathematics and Science in which students needed more help. He addresses a brief press conference to brief the media persons about Bihar Anjuman and its aspirations. He had a rendezvous with the guardians the same evening.
The Award Ceremony started at 3:30 P.M. with recital of the Holy Qura’n by Md Hozaifa Ali, a student of Grade VIII.
Dr. Manoj Kumar introduced the Chef Guest, Jb Athar Hashmi and said that it was a great and noble gesture for the society as a whole that a person who has nothing to do with the people of this locality, is taking this much interest in the educational upliftment of the children of this area. He said that all of us as a society should play our roles in honing the future of the socially and economically backward and underprivileged children. He further said that they were striving to brighten the future of our students with the support of people like Athar Hashmi Sb and the members of Bihar Anjuman. The Chief Guest was presented with bouquets by Dr Srfaraz Ahmad Sb and Amir Aftab (Grade X student).

Dr. Arshad Masood Hashmi presented the monthly report and said that he did not have to say much as the real guardian of these students was there to share his views.
Mr Prasahnt K Rudra was invited to share his experiences with the students. He said that the students of Grade X are not as sincere as they should have been.
Dr Manoj Kumar announced the names of the prize winners. Altogether 40 students were appreciated for 100% attendance.
When asked to speak on the occasion, Jb Athar Shaheen Hashmi Sb recited various verses from the Holy Qur’an. He narrated some ahaadees to interpret those verses, and then he presented an Urdu translation. He said that The Qur’an is the only Holy Book that places so much emphasis on education. He interpreted the firstly revealed Qur’anic aayah and said that when we have a look at our community, we find that most of us are not true Muslims because we do not follow what the Qur’an directs us. An uneducated Muslim is not a Muslim in true sense. It is a misinterpretation when people say that The Qur’an puts stress on religious education, not on worldly education. One cannot separate these two streams, he said. Deen and Duniya cannot be separated. Islam and Islamic teachings ask us to hone our life and afterlife as well. The Holy Qur’an and The Prophet (pbuh) have repeatedly instructed us to think and ponder about the world around us, about the skies and oceans, earth and mountains, stars and all other creatures. It is an obvious sign to believe that our religion wants us to make our knowledge of the world perfect too. An honest teacher is a Muslim, a laborious student is a Muslim, a scientist is a Muslim, anyone who is doing his work honestly and for the benefit of the mankind, as directed by Allah, is a Muslim. He added, “Think about yourself, your role as a son, a brother, a sister, a student, a member of family and society and play it honestly...It’ll make you a true Muslim as well”. He said that we have been asked to obtain ‘ilm-e-naaf’e, i.e., an education that provides benefit, benefits to us, to our family, our society, our nation, and to the humanity. Being a Haafiz, a Qaarii, an ‘aalim, a Mufti, a scientist, a doctor, a mathematician, a technician or whatever… it is all a form of acquiring ‘ilm-e-naaf’e. One should never forget Allah, who provided him an opportunity to gain what he wanted, to become what he dreamt. Thus Deen and Duniya, together, carve a man.
He expressed his satisfaction on the performance of the students and said that they need to be more studious. He said that it’ll be great to find that some of these students did fulfil our ambitions. He asked them to assign value to time and opportunities.
Expressing his gratitude towards the members of the Management Committee and the Iqra family, he expressed his obligations towards Jb Enam Khan Sb, and the moderators and members of Bihar Anjuman who provided him an opportunity to serve the society with their support and guidance.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Br Tarique Anwar, Principal, Iqra Public High School. The ceremony concluded at 6:00 p.m.
