He bears all the expenses of his mission all alone. His topic was closely related to the theme of debate for this awards ceremony. He had a pre-scheduled press conference in about 45 minutes time, still, he did not mind spending time with the RCC students, and he distributed award to successful students. Janab Enam Khan Sb introduced the guests and the newly-admitted students of Grade-8. The chief guest, Janab Rustam Ali sb, who had proposed the introduction of topic of debate for each awards ceremony, delivered a scintillating lecture on this ceremony’s theme “Iflaas aur Taleem”. Dammam-Khobar
chapter of Bihar Anjuman connects community leaders from many states,
at a luncheon meeting, 27th April 2012 The venue was a well-known restaurant reputed for its Indian delicacies. Attendees included prominent community leaders from Karnataka, Hyderabad, Uttar Pradesh, and Bhatkal. And, the lunch was hosted by Bihar Anjuman’s local chapter of Dammam-Khobar whose objective of spreading awareness about Bihar Anjuman’s aims & objectives, its education-focused welfare activities, driving forces behind its success, and how the same could easily be replicated by any organization anywhere else, were highly acclaimed by one and all. Janab Salahuddin Khan Sb anchored the event, and invited brother Ziaul Haque Nadwi Sb to start the program with recitation of Quran. Visiting brother Engineer Shakeel Ahmad Sb was then invited to brief the attendees about Bihar Anjuman. Shakeel Sb made a power-point presentation of an hour, taking the audience through an incredible journey, by ordinary persons aspiring for extra-ordinary success of the community, which has left all other voluntary organizations wondering. Wondering, because Bihar Anjuman works without a formal structure, without an office, thus with zero overheads, a proposition that is packed with pleasant surprises. Commencing the online networking on 14th June 2004, helping five students by means of scholarship of Rs. 1,200/= per month to each of them selected in AMU on a merit-cum-means basis, the network could pool enough resources to establish 21 RAHBAR Coaching Centres in 14 districts of Bihar and 6 districts of Jharkhand, each spending Rs. 11,000/= per month, an ITI (RAHBAR Technical Training Centre) providing govt approved ITI certificates in Plumbing, Electrician and Civil Draftsman courses, a residential madrasa-cum-school only for girls to receive free quality holistic education, guidance and training. The network is currently helping more than 25 students with monthly scholarship ranging from Rs. 1,500/= to Rs. 2,500/=, apart from paying their annual fees. It has helped community members in moments of crisis by raising resources for them, at individual levels as well as during natural calamities like floods and earthquakes. If the following picture, shared on their website, was not presented to the audience, it would have been hard to believe how all of this was possible in a short period of seven years: After briefing about projects of Bihar Anjuman, the dynamic business model of Bihar Anjuman was explained (depicted by the above pic) – how latest communication technology connects all the elements of BA, empowers chapters and individuals willing to turn their thoughts, ideas, or plans into viable projects. It was then explained that this removing of bureaucratic shackles enables the shift from a paradigm of control and chains-of-command to a paradigm of innovation in which talents can bloom freely, empowered through 100% freedom. Shakeel Sb explained why it was necessary to get our hands and heads together, why it was essential to act immediately, all by ourselves, without demanding any favours from the government (he termed “demanding of rights” as just a decently packaged version of “begging”). In order that our lost pride can be regained, we need to help ourselves. That’s why we are trying to promote a culture of giving rather than begging from other organizations or governments. Our inner strength will only come from the culture of giving and by coming out of the charity mindset (that has blessed our educational system with the madarsa culture) and mediocrity. Beggars can’t be choosers. We have to decide which side we would be. Helping hands are always better than praying lips. And, Allah says: Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people until they change it themselves (Quran, 13:11), so we need to take the initiatives, and help those who do the same. That’s exactly why Bihar Anjuman was founded, and that’s exactly what every muslim must stand for. Muslims, as Allah’s khalifa on earth, have to lead the country (and the world) towards peace, prosperity, and happiness. Who listens to the beggar’s voice? A religious dawah machine is just as worthy as the hands that hold it. In the hands of beggars, the machine’s call towards Islam gets a response, “Yeah! You are beggar because of it, and you want me to transform me into the same, huh!” Bihar Anjuman is striving to build a culture of giving among muslims, and bring about a paradigm shift from the culture of begging, asking, demanding, or waiting for someone else to give.
