Can Indian Muslim be a terrorist?

In India, the question of terrorism is a new life giving mantra to many establishments. These establishments range from political parties to communalist organization and to the power broker of Indian Muslims.

For all of them issue of “terrorism” is the mantra of survival for a longer period without loosing their credibility among the Indian people.

The definition of terrorism in India may vary from religion to religion, region to region and ideology to ideology. For Indian Muslims, the definition of terrorism is meaningless as the term has been coined only for them.

If we see the culture of violence in India historically, there was never a religious oriented at least in medieval India (like persecution of Buddhist in the ancient time). Violence has always been condemned as an act of unreligious people (see the case of Mahabharata and Ramayana: principle of War and violence). But at present, why violence is not considered as an act of unreligious people, but a projected work of an entire community or a particular religion? This duality is known to every Indian that what terrorism means. Can this sort of dual approach help us to reach to find a true definition of Terrorism?

The other point of terrorism is why this evil has been nourishing by the so called true patriot of India? For the last 20 years, due the advancement in education, economy, science and technology the Indian marginalized communities progressed with leaps and bounds. Meanwhile, Indian Muslims also progressed with these marginalized communities. This development posed threat to the traditional power holder of the Indian nation for centuries.

The mantra of Indian nationalism which was the moving force since the revolt of 1857, started to loose color due to the rise of regional forces in political manifestation and religious division. The economic development due to liberalization of Indian economy since 1991 brought true unity among different segments of Indian society in true perspective, rejecting all religious hatred which was revived by the communal establishments in India since partition and elevated with every war with Pakistan. The fast progressing global economy in swirl of globalization introduced the orthodox bunyas class of India to the nations (both Muslims and non-Muslims) around the world particularly the Muslims nations. The new development needed a more secular approach towards the Indian Muslims who always had been in the touch of their brethren around the world. The global reaching Indian business classes needed secular Indian Muslims to use in wielding their business relation with the fast emerging Muslim nations.

Both the trends were very fearful for the communalist forces and political parties which were seeing the emergence of a new India based on new identity and new culture different from the traditional Indian system of alignment. The traditional empire of Indian elite classes who were holding power saw these two trends as a threat. After this time, we witnessed the emergence of the symptom of the disease know as terrorism.

The secularization of Indian Muslims and suppression of anti-secular Muslims started with floating nets for them in mass media. The projection of muslims as dons, criminals, smugglers or anti-social elements started from Indian Cinema (Bollywood). This was done alike the projection of Muslims and Muslims movement around the world by Hollywood. One can notice in the movie “True and Lies” released in early Nineties in Hollywood that how Muslims were projected as terrorist with movement of Palestine (the famous Arabic Ruumal used by Yasser Arafat was used by the Villain of movie).

Then started the real propaganda of communal forces as they planned to make the marginalized communities and Indian Muslims to be the enemy of each other. A series of violence was

unleashed both in term of communal riots and terrorist attacks. Every terrorist attack was linked with the Indian Muslims. Indian Muslims identity and loyalty was put on stake. The question that hammers the mind of Indian Muslims is: can Indian Muslims involve themselves in such acts which invite the ruthless suppression and backlash to their very much needed advancement in education, economy, science and technology?

No Indian Muslim having any sort of wisdom can choose such destructive path for their community. If any one has involved himself then he cannot be a Muslim.

Then who are the culprits of this terrorist monster? The till revealed facts about terrorism by various agencies and path breaking investigations by slain Mr. Karkare proved the thesis of conspiracy of the traditional power holder of India. Indian Muslims are not part of ongoing terrorist activities but they are victims of enemies of the nation.

The need of hour for Indian Muslims is to have patience and reject the so called terrorist jihad for the sake of the community and nation. The duty of every Indian is to expose the real enemy of the nation and bring them to justice. The Indian Muslim shall form an organization comprising of the eminent legal jurists and citizens of India to pursue every act of terrorism and bring the reality and culprit before the nation and the world and prove that Indian Muslims can live in poverty, suffer from illiteracy, face discrimination but cannot be a terrorist.

A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said:

'Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even 1 yr. old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together.' So the doctor said: 'Ok and what do you want me to do?'
She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this.'

The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too.' She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.

Then he continued: 'You see, in order for you not to have to take care of 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.

The lady was horrified and said: 'No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child! 'I agree', the doctor replied. 'But you seemed to be ok with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution. The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point.

He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that's already been born and one that's still in the womb. The crime is the same!
